1. Official Connection Parameters

[!NOTE] Active Testing Phase: We currently connect using the server’s direct public IP. Following the official launch on January 15, the domain mqtt.cipropanama.org will be enabled.

ParameterOfficial ValueNotes
Server Address (Broker)mqtt.cipropanama.orgCIPRO cluster official domain
Standard TCP Port1883Direct connection for radios & mobile apps

TLS EncryptionDisabled (OFF)Direct TCP connection

2. Step-by-Step Configuration in Meshtastic App (Android / iOS)

  1. Open the Meshtastic app and connect to your radio node via Bluetooth.
  2. Navigate to Settings (Gear Icon) ➔ Module Config ➔ MQTT:
    • MQTT Enabled: Toggle to (ON).
    • Server Address: mqtt.cipropanama.org
    • Username: (Leave empty)
    • Password: (Leave empty)
    • Root Topic: msh/PA
    • TLS Enabled: Toggle to (OFF).
    • Proxy to Client: Toggle to (ON) if your radio uses your phone’s cellular internet connection.
  3. Save changes (Save).

To ensure your messages sync with the server and Reticulum:

  1. Go to Channels in the app.
  2. Select your primary channel (e.g. LongFast or CIPRO_OPS).
  3. Open Channel Settings and verify:
    • Uplink Enabled (ON): Uploads LoRa radio packets to the server.
    • Downlink Enabled (ON): Receives server/Reticulum packets and transmits them over RF.

4. Connectivity Verification

Once configured, your node will appear on the live telemetry map. Send a test message on the public channel: TEST CIPRO: [Your Callsign / Node ID]
